Skoove Piano Learning App Review

Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post! Today, I'm going to be reviewing an app called Skoove, which is a interactive piano learning app, designed specifically for beginners of all ages. It's a great tool for both adults ,as well as parents with children. There's also a huge variety of different popular songs, making the piano learning process a lot more fun! I think that this is a really great tool for those of you who want to learn in your own time and at your own pace. For those of you who are already working with a teacher, this tool is a great supplement to your lessons. Please feel free to view the YouTube review I made, in order to see the app in action!

One of the things that I really love about Skoove is that it doesn't only teach you the notes of the piece and tell you whether you're playing them right or wrong, but it also gives you insight as to the music theory behind each piece, as well as how you can interpret the pieces on your own.

Each lesson begins with a playback of the piece so that you know what you're aiming for. As mentioned earlier, you can get real-time feedback as you practice within the app. So, when you play a correct note, the notes will be highlighted in green, but once you play something incorrectly, it will be highlighted in red instead. What's even better is that you can scroll back in the score to right before where you made the mistake, so that you can practice that section over again.

You also get really useful tips about piano playing technique, such as advice on how to use the damper pedal correctly. The app explains how the damper pedal sustains the sound of the notes, and teaches you to press it down right after striking a note or a chord. It further explains that in order to avoid a muddy sound, you should release the pedal before playing the next note or chord.

Another useful feature of the app is that you can actually adjust the tempo of the click track. So, if you need to go a little bit slower because the piece is still quite new and unfamiliar to you, you can actually slow it down to 65% of the full tempo. Then, once you're ready, you can gradually increase the tempo until you reach 100%.

As mentioned previously, the app also teaches you how to interpret pieces musically. It gives you a few tips on what you can do to make the pieces sound a little bit more interesting. Once you've tried a few of their suggestions, the app leaves it open for you to interpret as you please.
